2016 Quilters Friend Shop Hop

Hi Everyone
In conjunction with Quilters Lane Masterton, Crafty Pear Pahiatua, Village Books & Crafts Palmerston North & Cherry Pie Bernina Levin, we are participating in this years Shop Hop, you can see what the other 4 shops are doing by going to the Quilters Friend Facebook page, but here is the picture of ours, it is a table runner using French General fabrics for Moda & you can substitute the French General Woad Blue for the Jade if you wish, you will collect 15 Fat Eighths in total from the 5 shops & for our table runner you can make this entire table runner from them except for the borders, binding backing etc, however if you want to make this heat resistant we also carry the Insulbrite to do that, all details are on the Facebook page or you can contact us at Sawmillers either by phone or email

Favourites from French General & Other News

Hi Everyone
Just received are some of the basic textured solids from French General, these are great to use as blenders in your projects, not just French General but other fabric styles too.

We also have another order from the USA arriving any day so shall let you know what goodies are in there, we have also received another order of the popular Apliquik tools, go through to You Tube & see the demonstration, these are invaluable for those of us that love hand applique but our needle turn skills may not be as good as we would wish!

2016 Quilters Friend Shop Hop

Sawmillers is participating in the 2016 Quilters Friend Shop Hop, along with Quiters Lane, Masterton, Crafty Pear Pahiatua, Village Books & Crafts Palmerston North and Cherry Pie Levin we shall be holding this from the 6th – 23rd August, the registration fee will be the same as previous years at $45.00 & you will receive 3 Fat Eighths in each shop of the fabric you have registered to receive, Sawmillers is offering the French General range in Fat Eighths, here is a picture of just some of the range we shall be using, more details to come, but mark the dates in your diary, iPhone, iPad whatever & come & see us all

We have just received our latest order from Italy of Aurifil thread, these are becoming more & more popular the larger reels will last you much longer, come & see the variety of colours we have in stock

Scamp the New Official Greeter

Scamp is now 13 weeks old, & dare I say becoming a teenager! his teeth soon remind you that he is teething & we are now used to raising shoes, slippers,sneakers etc. above ground & out of reach! Poppy is being very patient & allows him to pull her ears, cheeks & tail!!
