The Royal Wedding at Sawmillers

29 Apr

Hi Everyone,

So the time is nearly here when we will be able to join in the celebrations at the wedding of Prince William and Katherine Middleton.

I shall be joining my daughters Samantha in America and Georgina in London in a three way Skype whilst the wedding is being televised, I shall also have my girlfriend in law ( my son James girlfriend ) Natelle keeping me company too. The egg and cress and cucumber sandwiches are made as are the cream horns and pink cupcakes so we can enjoy these goodies later in evening, that’s if we have room after having home made fish n chips!

Bailey and Poppy Official Greeters, will be wearing their newly made Red, White, and Blue Bandanas as well.

So until next time, we all here at Sawmillers wish you a wonderful evening, whether it will be watching the Royal Wedding or the Breakers versus Taipan match!

Happy Quilting

UFO and Baltimore Class

14 Apr

Hi Everyone,

It is hoped that I shall get my camera up and running today, having found out from my camera advisor Tony that the media card I was using was corrupted, can’t think why as there were only pictures of fabric and dogs on it, but all is well now with a new card and new batteries too!

We have just received some more Vintage 30’s fabric direct from the USA beautiful oranges, pinks and blues, not just good for quilts but also aprons too, lovely idea for a gift for someone or perhaps even Christmas, after all there are only 36 weeks to go.

Tomorrow evening Friday, is our UFO Night as well as our Baltimore class, we look forward to seeing you  either in the cottage for the class or in the tea house for the UFO, don’t forget you can always phone for details.

Well, I shall finish this hasty posting and look forward to seeing you all,

Until next time, Happy Quilting.

We Are Still Here!

3 Apr

Hi everyone,

Apologies yet again for the delay in this posting, I know how frustrating it can be to go through to a blog and find there hasn’t been a posting for awhile. I have no excuse except lack of time.

I took lots of goodies up to Wanganui to the Cotton On Quilters Exhibition and had a great time, I was able to take the new Riley Blake ranges as well as a range of the cutest vintage fabrics by Windham that arrived direct from the USA just a couple of days before.

Everyone was very nice and it was great to meet up with fellow quilt retailers as well as customers, it was amazing how many I knew!

I was also able to visit my family and had a lovely dinner with the girls and my grand daughter Ellie, so despite it being a long weekend leaving Upper Hutt at 4.30am on the Saturday and returning home after 10.00pm on the Sunday evening, it was great to see everyone.

All our classes are well under way now, we have had Judy Betts, June Nixey, Chris Kenna and Dianne Barnden teaching at Sawmillers the past 3 weeks, next Saturday is the first of three Stack n Whack classes with Adrienne Nelson, the Baltimore and Dear Jane work nights have also begun as have the UFO nights, so if you want to register for a class or and join us  for the other nights just phone and let us know.

I shall finish, but a final word from the Official Greeters, who are both doing very well, Bailey is still a bit ‘barky’ but hopefully once he is out of the ‘terrible two’s’ in dog age he will improve and Poppy just spends most of her day here asleep!

So until next time

Happy Quilting

Official Greeter Bailey catching up on emails!
