Class Preview Evening

14 Feb

Hi Everyone,

Just to remind you that the Class Preview Evening is this Saturday 16th February at 7.00pm, come along and meet the tutors and look at the class samples, discuss with the tutors what is covered in the classes and then you can enroll for the class, pay your deposit and that will entitle you to a 10% discount on your class needs.

For those who attended the quilt festival it was lovely seeing you all, so many familiar faces, the Official Greeters were very subdued, we don’t know whether it was the heat or being overwhelmed! but at least they were well behaved!

I shall be posting pictures of all the quilts that were displayed on the Stonestead site as soon as they become available.

Hoping to see you on Saturday

Until then Happy Quilting

Outdoor Quilt Festival

8 Feb

Hi Everyone,

There is a new posting on the Stonestead blog, with a few details and news.

On the Sawmillers front all is well, the Official Greeters, Bailey and Poppy have been groomed and are looking most handsome and somewhat cooler!

All the class quilts are on display so come and have a look at them, we also have the Class Preview Night on Saturday 16th February at 7.00pm, you can come and meet the tutors and discuss what the classes involve, and register on the night too.

Sawmillers are running Specials on some fabrics, these are all quilt shop quality, there will also be some Fat Quarters reduced as well as a Wool Batting, so come in and have a look, these may be just what you need to start your new project.

Come and say hello to us, we shall have Cheryl and Sue in Sawmillers helping and they are both more than happy to help you.

See you soon and Happy Quilting.

IMG_4499Hi Everyone

This posting is rather a sad one and written with a heavy heart from Kevin and I as our friend Pam Macmillan passed away yesterday 1st February 2013.

I am sure that there are many of you who knew Pam either through Capital Quilters, Crafty Angels or just as a lovely person, she was an ardent supporter of all things quilting and crafty as well as supporting Highland Gatherings and Scottish things in general.

Pam was one of our first customers at Sawmillers when we opened in 2008, she was so thrilled at having another quilt shop open, that when I was cutting fat quarters in preparation for our opening she came and looked at all the new fabric and was so excited, such a relief for us in our new venture.

Pam entered out the 1st Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Festival and I have managed to find pictures of the quilts she entered, we shall be having one of Pam’s quilts in this years show too, so she will know she will never be forgotten.

To her family and friends we send our deepest condolences and please know we have been and still are thinking of her.

Until next time, Happy Quilting in heaven Pam xxx
