Happy Sawmillers Christmas

3 Sawmillers Shopping Days To Go

18 Dec

dscf0864Hi Everyone,

Well the days are passing by so quickly, there will be those who are leaving this weekend to spend Christmas with their families, and that is what it is all about, they are the memories we treasure and the good times we are able to experience.

This year seems to have been full of the world economy, how bad it all is, and what we should be doing, and it is very hard to decide what we should absorb and what we should ignore and our personal circumstances dictate  the way we deal with all these issues.

But here at Sawmillers we want to make your visit to us a happy experience, we enjoy your visits, Barney, our Official Greeter is on duty and Archie 3rd Assistant (Unpaid) is waiting to see you too, so if you want to call and just say hello that is fine, come and browse the goodies we have, and then perhaps relax next door at the Stonestead Devonshire Tea House over a cup of tea and a scone.

The next posting will be the last before Sawmillers finishes for Christmas, but we have some great ideas for classes and promotions for 2009, not least of all the Outdoor Quilt Festival in February, we are very pleased to have received some great mentions in the New Zealand Quilter, thank you, Anne.

Until the next time, Happy Quilting

Only 7 Sleeps To Go

18 Dec

Hi Everyone,

A rather hasty posting today as we are all gearing for the final push before Christmas, I have to say that being in Wellington this morning at 7.25am was a tad early even for me, but when a new food processor for Christmas is the incentive who can ignore it!

Anyway onto to more practical matters don’t forget we still have a variety of kits available as well as gift certificates, block pins, fat quarter packs some presented with the Stonestead Home Made Jam as well as in pretty dishes, Kath Kidston stationary sets, recipe boxes along with some tree decorations.

I have to say some of these things are going very quickly so don’t wait too long, all the Mary Engelbreit  pincushions were all sold within 2 days, we couldn’t believe it. As far as fabric is concerned we have 25% off selected Christmas fabric too.

Sawmillers closing dates will be from Monday 22nd December and we shall be back here on the 8th January at 10.0am for a new exciting year, Don’t forget Stonestead Devonshire Teas is open through out, closing just on Christmas Day, so Kevin will look forward to seeing you and making his famous scones.

As you can see No 2 Assistant and Official Greeter along with 3rd Assistant (Unpaid) are wearing their No 2 Festive Outfits, green velvet, trimmed with gold and golden bells!! Sunday will find them wearing their No 1 Outfits.

Until our next posting which will probably be the last before Christmas.

Happy Quilting.

Yo Yo Christmas Wreath In Store Demonstration & 25% Off Christmas Fabric

11 Dec

Hi Everyone,

A rather quick post as we have had a hectic time in the Sawmillers today, I had such good intentions to do this first thing this morning, but that’s another story.

Anyway we have a free in store demonstration of the Yo Yo Wreath this Sunday 14th December at 1.30pm, this is a really easy Christmas project with all the requirements available in Sawmillers including the polystyrene wreaths, we are also hoping to have another wreath demonstration by Dianne too. The exciting news is that we shall have 25% off selected Christmas fabric in Sawmillers this weekend, this is an ideal time to stock up on your fabric for next years Christmas projects, and also for the Christmas Quilt class we are hoping to hold in March, we are just waiting to confirm dates with the tutor.

So why not come along to the demonstration, have a browse through the fabric on sale and then go over to the tea house for a Devonshire Tea, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, needless to say the ‘little’ boys are here to make you welcome, both Barney Official Greeter and 2nd Assistant and Archie 3rd Assistant (Unpaid) are wearing their festive ruffs, green velvet  with gold trim and bells, they look particularly handsome since they have been groomed and trimmed by Steve at Dogs R Us.

Until next time, Happy Quilting and don’t forget Sawmillers will be closed from Monday 22nd December to Wednesday 7th January

If you are coming to the city this weekend for all the numerous sales and bargains that are going to be available, why not call up to see us here at Sawmillers and select your very reasonably priced Christmas gifts for your friends or family.

We still have a great selection of Block Charms, Key Rings and the cutest Signs, an especially lovely one is specifically designed for Grandmothers, it would make a super Christmas gift from the grandchildren. We also have Kath Kidston stationary, Bookmarks and of course Kits.

We have Ruby Beholders back in stock and as you can see from picture we also have a variety of Fat 1/4ers gift wrapped, and before I forget we also have lovely gift certificates made out to any value you want.
