Before the visitors

Hi Everyone

Well, time is certainly marching on, if you have a quilt/quilts that you would like to enter in the Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Festival, remember the registrations close on Sunday 3rd February at 4.00pm, you can scan them through to enquiries@sawmillersquiltery.co.nz if it is easier, we don’t require the quilts until Friday 8th February, but we do need the registrations prior so that we can put the details into the catalogue.

The registration form can be downloaded at http://stonestead.wordpress.com or we have some in the shop that you can collect.

Any queries telephone 04 526 2517

Have a great week & happy Quilting

2013 Outdoor Quilt Festival Update and Half Square Triangle Info.

20 Jan

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick blog today to say there are more details on http://stonestead.wordpress.com regarding the Quilt Festival, so go through and have a look.

Sawmillers will have end of bolt fabrics for sale at a greatly reduced price, so keep that in mind and we are also hoping that the fabric we ordered in October 2012 will also have arrived for you all to see!!

For all those ladies who participated in the International Half Square Triangle Exchange, thank you for handing them in,  Kevin and I are in the process of packing them up to send to USA, but I shall be taking pictures for you  prior to mailing, at this stage it looks like we have approx 26,000, what a wonderful effort from everyone, it will be interesting to see what we get in return. At this stage it looks like either the 1st or 2nd of March will be the dates for the Party Night and pick up, but I shall confirm that once we know when the HST’s have left USA.

Until next time, Happy Quilting.

Happy New Year

13 Jan

Hi Everyone,

Firstly apologies for not posting regularly, no excuses, just lack of time.

We are back into our normal routine here at Sawmillers, and despite the peculiar weather Kevin is keeping busy in the Tea House, he has introduced Clotted Cream so you can get an authentic cream tea now, for those that don’t enjoy the richness of clotted cream Kevin still has whipped cream available.

Most of the classes have now been downloaded onto the classes page, we have introduced some new ones this year, in keeping with the latest trend English Paper Piecing is a new class along with a Drunkards Path Quilt, so there are lots of exciting classes coming up.

Don’t forget the 5th Annual Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Festival which is being held a week later this year so we don’t clash with the 7’s or Martinborough Fair, all the details can be found on the Stonestead blog http://stonestead.wordpress.com including the registration form if you would like to enter a quilt or take part in the challenge.

The Official Greeters are fine, if not a bit weary from not doing much since we re-opened!! I shall look forward to meeting up with you all once more.

Until next time, Happy Quilting.
