Kind Thoughts Wanted

7 Dec

Hi Everyone

This is a rather quick post, just to let you know we have had some sadness at Sawmillers and it’s environs!

One of our Thursday Evening ladies, has been called back to Scotland to be with her mum who is seriously ill, we are all thinking of Mamie at this time, and whilst distance means we are unable to do a great deal we can at least keep her in our thoughts at this time.

Another of our Thursday Evening girls has just been been through a very stressful time as her son was involved in a serious vehicle accident on Saturday morning, it seems at the moment he has to undergo another operation to rectify problems with his wrists and his broken leg, unfortunately he suffered terrible injuries to his other leg and the doctors were unable to save it, all those who know Diane are thinking of her at this stressful time and we wait to hear the latest update on Blairs progress and wish him a very speedy recovery.

Unfortunately our third sadness was heard via the TV One News today when we saw that Anne Scott’s son Jack ( Anne is the editor of NZ Quilter and the force behind Minerva, in Cuba Street) had been killed in Afghanistan, we don’t know any details, but we are feeling for Anne at this terribly sad time, Anne was one of our judges at the first Stonestead Outdoor Quilt Festival, so she holds a special place for us.

I am sure Anne has far too many things to cope with at the moment, but we would like her to know that our thoughts and prayers are with her and hope that she gains strength knowing that.

Until next time,

What a sad time for all involved. I didn’t realise that the soldier was Anne’s son, what a tradegy for the family

Dear Yvonne…what sad news you have to share. All three ladies and their families are in my prayers. It is good they are quilters as we tend to support each other like no one else. Love to you, Denniele
